ORIGIN: BANKO GOTITI, GEDEB ZONE, ETHIOPIA
VARIETY:INDIGENOUS CULTIVARS
PROCESS: DOUBLE WASHED
NOTES: BERGAMOT, PEACH, MILK CHOCOLATE

Banko Gotiti is the name of both the village and the washing station where this coffee was produced. The washing station is under the umbrella of a large cooperative called the Yirgacheffe Coffee Farmers’ Cooperative Union. In 2012, they split off from the larger Worka Cooperative to form their own independent organization with approximately 300 members.

Rather than a traditional washed process, this coffee has been processed using a method referred to as “double washed”. This method is common in Kenya, in fact, it is rare to find a coffee that hasn’t been double washed out of Kenya. For this process the coffee is washed, soaked and washed again giving double washed coffees a super clean cup profile."
