Grown in the lush hills of Caicedonia, Colombia, at Finca Las Margaritas, this rare Sudan Rume varietal is a true testament to the dedication and craft of Rigoberto and Luis Herrera. Nestled in the Valle de Cauca region, the farm benefits from Pacific mist rolling over the Andes, creating an ideal microclimate for these delicate trees.

This coffee showcases the meticulous care of the CGLE team, from selective harvesting at 18 BRIX to a precise fermentation and drying process. After two days of aerobic fermentation, the cherries are dried whole for five days and rested for three months to ensure stability and a perfectly balanced flavor profile.

Why is Sudan Rume so special? This varietal is notoriously hard to cultivate—CGLE had to replant nearly 80% of their trees in recent years. But the result is well worth it: a complex cup with remarkable sweetness, velvety chocolates, and a refreshing menthol finish.
